On-site spill kit induction and environmental awareness training
To ensure you can show “environmental due diligence”, and meet the requirements of Workplace Health and Safety, training should be undertaken when a spill kit is supplied in the workplace
The objective of this training is to:
- advise on recent changes to Environmental Legislation with a focus on the basic legal stance of Duty of Care, and
- Risk management/risk reduction: local and global risks
- develop the skills of the participants to a level of competency in the use of spill kits, and absorbent products, so they may respond correctly to liquid spills.
Spill Kit Induction and Environmental Awareness training takes approximately one hour and covers:
- the legislation presented in understandable terms; in that the legal onus is now on all employees to act to the best of their abilities to prevent or reduce the impact any liquid spill may have on the environment,
- safety in responding to a spill, to ensure the employee acts in a safe manner.
- the kit absorbent products and the properties of these products, as well as information on other absorbent products not contained in the kit. This generally covers bioactive and non bioactive o rganic fibre absorbents plus synthetic non-woven material, and also the type of delivery systems used to absorb a spill.
- the eight steps of spill response.
At the end of this training the participants should be able to respond, in the correct manner, to a liquid spill. The attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance, and the company will receive a letter noting who attended, plus details on the supplied training.
The Investment per Session
The investment in this training is $50.00 per person (with a minimum of $500.00) (excl GST).
