Paint recycling

Don't waste paint, recycle it and use it on future projects

The Reclaimer system has been taken to its full. All waste suspended in water can be treated in a system. Printer's inks, cement effluent, tilers, painters, renderers and artists washout can all go into a system. Once the treatment process has occurred the high clarity grey water can be discharged to sewer. Many types of councils have approved discharge to their sewer systems. This in itself is a great waste of precious natural resource- water.

By containing the high quality effluent produced by this system and reusing it saves massive amounts of potable water. The reuse system has been tested after 10 reuse cycles and still comes inside most sewer emission parameters. The main issue is that if you use a reticulated system you may not need a permit to discharge to sewer at all.

Some City councils are involved with trade waste monopolies and are unable to change the status quo or mentality are not prepared to rock the boat. This means that the high cost of removal makes the gamble of fine infringement worth the risk for illegal dumping.

Reclaimers are manufactured from industrial grade fibreglass and the interiors are coated with chemical resistant gel coat. Keeping in mind that water based paints are mostly made up of chemical compounds, it is extremely important that the interiors of waste systems be regularly cleaned to remove plaque and control pH.

Reclaimers have been in place, most in direct sunlight for over 4 years with no deterioration of the inside or especially the exterior. Some other systems available on the market are made from poly products that are not U.V. stabilised and may rupture in a short space of time.
